Born in 1987, Prashant Kulkarni’s entrepreneurial journey began at a young age, where he exhibited a remarkable drive for innovation and a keen business sense. From selling paper boats during rainy seasons to managing a video cassette library, Prashant’s early experiences laid the foundation for his future entrepreneurial ventures.
In 2001, Prashant ventured into the world of book trading, sourcing books from a local “kabadiwala” and selling them at Khajuri Bazar to fund his passion for adding new fish to his aquarium. This early foray into commerce showcased Prashant’s resourcefulness and knack for identifying market opportunities.
By 2003, Prashant had tapped into the emerging mobile phone market, selling SIM cards and mobile phones to friends and relatives. His ability to secure choice numbers and provide personalised service earned him a reputation in his circle. These ventures not only allowed Prashant to earn a livelihood but also honed his entrepreneurial skills and business acumen.
In the following years, Prashant diversified his entrepreneurial endeavours. He managed a tire tube shop in the competitive market of Indore, showcasing his ability to thrive in challenging environments. In 2006, Prashant played a pivotal role in setting up his father’s tire tube factory in the Nimrani Industrial Area, demonstrating his commitment to supporting family businesses and fostering economic growth.
Prashant’s entrepreneurial spirit continued to drive him, and in 2007, he joined Infosys, where he managed multiple projects and contributed to innovation and implementation efforts. His organisational skills and ability to coordinate events positioned him as a valuable asset to the company.
In 2009, Prashant’s passion for culinary innovation led him to embark on a new venture. He began conceptualising Chatar Patar, a unique street food brand. With determination and vision, Prashant registered a private limited company in 2011, laying the groundwork for Chatar Patar’s national expansion.
The year 2013 marked the introduction of Boxo Burger, a subsidiary of Chatar Patar, further diversifying Prashant’s business portfolio. His ability to identify gaps in the market and create innovative food concepts positioned him as a disruptor in the industry.
Prashant’s entrepreneurial prowess gained recognition as he received the prestigious CNBC Masterpreneur award in 2015 and further accolades from Times Now ET Now in 2017. His ventures continued to expand, and in 2018, he received the Super Startup Asia award and was honoured as the Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019.
In 2020, Prashant launched Zuper World, a platform aimed at supporting aspiring entrepreneurs in their journey. His mission to empower and assist other entrepreneurs showcases his commitment to giving back and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship.
